Diane Larson’s fingers dance to this Sing, Sign and Spell song by Nellie Edge which teaches the high-frequency (“by heart”) words “Mom”, “Dad”, “me” and “you”.  We call these important words “by heart” words because we want our children to be able to fluently read, write, and spell them instantly – “by heart”. Our children often create special messages using these emotionally powerful words in their writing center:
