Parents as Partners Letter:
Summer Volunteers Needed

Dear Kindergarten Parents:

I am expanding our poetry “I Can Read” notebook program for next Fall and will be making several new poetry and song charts for our classroom.

I enjoy creating new kindergarten materials over the summer; however, help is always appreciated!  I could use some assistance in the following areas:

  • Making word cards for pocket chart rhymes
  • Lettering language charts
  • Illustrating language charts
  • Coloring Big Books
  • Photocopying poetry pages and organizing them in files
  • Punching holes in poetry pages and adding reinforcers
  • Cutting and stapling Little Books
  • Making and laminating enlarged little books for student reading boxes.
  • Making blank folded books for our writing center

Many of these projects can be done at home or we may schedule a few “kindergarten work parties” at school.  Please email or call me if you are interested in helping.  I look forward to getting to know all of you.
